Responsibilities Serving as a Physical Security Specialist GS-0080-13 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is located in Artesia, New Mexico. Typical assignments include: Coordinating, conducting and supporting physical security activities towards the implementation of the FLETC Enterprise-wide Security System (ESS); supporting the coordination, development and implementation of physical security policies and procedures. Conducting reviews of proposed, planned, and/or new renovations, retrofit demolition and procurement projects to ensure all appropriate and applicable physical security requirements and measures are present or planned. Serving as System Administrator for the incident reporting process, Homeland Security Presidential Directive-12 (HSPD-12) program and surveillance information technology (IT) systems; plans, coordinates, implements and manages system installation, testing and operations of existing, new and/or upgraded security management IT systems. Supporting the FLETC Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Program and maintaining all required records and documents in accordance with PIV Program and DHS policies, procedures and requirements. Participating in measuring and analyzing the performance of the enterprise-wide level of the FLETC CSO/FSO Program; assisting in the development or modification of policy or program changes; and ensuring the effective operations of assigned administrative aspects of the CSO/FSO Program and ensuring coordination occurs during day-to-day activities and requirements with appropriate stakeholders and/or CSO/FSO service providers. Facilitating acquisition and ensures the optimal use of program resources and the development of performance measures to systematically report utilization levels along with the operational results of the program. Selective Placement Factor: Must have successfully completed a Criminal Investigator Training Program (CITP), Uniformed Police Training Program (UPTP) or equivalent Federal State or Local Law Enforcement training program. Specialized Experience: must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal service leading and conducting activities that support the development, implementation and management of an enterprise-wide physical security program. Such experience includes providing technical expertise regarding security posture, technology, tactics, and other physical security-related subjects; advising senior management on a variety of matters pertaining to security practices and policies; developing security business practices and standard operating procedures based on the interpretation of various security laws, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines; and overseeing security reviews and audits.
