SDM (Stratasys Direct Manufacturing) provides customers with manufacturing solutions that meet their technical and schedule requirements in Additive Manufacturing.
The PME (Process Manufacturing Engineer) group supports this goal with technical expertise in manufacturing, process, materials and applications experience across all Additive Manufacturing Technology offerings.
As a **Manufacturing Engineer** , you will play a key role in advancing our additive manufacturing processes and contributing to documentation and control of our procedures. Leveraging your expertise in manufacturing, you will work closely with the engineering team to optimize processes, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the successful execution of advanced 3D printing production.
What you will be doing:
+ Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods and workflow. Drive local facility, department, work cell and operator improvement initiatives through CPI initiatives. (20%)
+ Represent Stratasys Direct as the resident SME for AM technologies (SLA & DLP), processes, and services. (10%)
+ Support new initiatives and the development of applications and business for additive manufacturing and SDM processes. (5%)
+ Consult with fulfillment team, sales and customers regarding manufacturing capabilities, technology strengths and weaknesses, and Stratasys Direct's ability to deliver. (5%)
+ Support Stratasys Direct Product Management with executing, and reporting on material characterization, process development studies, product commercialization to bring new materials and products offerings to Stratasys Direct's portfolio. (20%)
+ Support Stratasys Direct Marketing by contributing to white papers, and technical talks/ webinars content, gather eligible photos and data to promote Stratasys Direct capacity, capacity, and differentiators. (10%)
+ Assist PME team in Collaborate with SSYS product teams and assist Stratasys Direct Product Management in developing processes to support new AM machines, equipment, technology, materials and capabilities. (10%)
+ Conduct technical due diligence on new technologies and processes aimed to expand offerings or accelerate lead times. (5%)
+ Contribute to Stratasys Direct Strategic Development Road Map projects by facilitating technical expertise, analytical approaches, and critical thinking. (5%)
+ Present data to draw data driven conclusions to steer Stratasys Direct Leadership to make positive and impactful decisions. (10%)
+ Follow all company safety policies and procedures
+ Attend all required company training
+ Demonstrate commitments to Stratasys Behaviors by leading, acting, and modeling these values

Must have for this role:
_As a part of Stratasys, this position requires access to information and/or technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S. (or, green card holder), a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State._
+ Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field and a minimum of 2 or more years combined experience in engineering and/or manufacturing operations.
+ Knowledge of mechanical testing methods and equipment. Understanding of mechanical properties of materials.
+ Experience designing complex 3D parts, interrogating and manipulating parts in CAD in CAD. Knowledge of GD&T.
+ Familiarity with the concepts of Process Control Documents/Plans (PCD's), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)/ Work Instructions(WI's), Work Order/Traveler, Non-Recurring Engineer (NRE).
+ Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and 6 Sigma principles.
+ Demonstrated ability to apply basic statistics, knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE), and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
+ Proficiency with MS Office; and formula-use in Excel; as well with recording and plotting data with Excel. Awareness of Pivot Table.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude, structured problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
+ Excellent personal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
+ Strong foundational knowledge of manufacturing processes, manufacturing equipment, and quality inspection techniques.
+ Ability to work well with others.
Nice to have:
+ Knowledge of and hands on experience with 3D Printing/ Additive Manufacturing processes and equipment.
+ Experience with Additive Manufacturing industry-specific regulatory specifications and standards
+ A demonstrated track record of process optimization and new process development for manufacturing in additive or conventional manufacturing
+ Experience in operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment
+ Experience implementing Design of Experiments (DOE), and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
+ Data Querying and Analysis is with advanced Excel, SQL, and/or Python techniques
+ Experience with ROI studies, creation of business cases
+ Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and 6 Sigma principles
**Travel required:** 10%, domestic
