    Responsibilities

    The Storage Material Coordinator performs a variety of material coordination and warehousing duties that support the management, accountability, and replenishment of equipment and supplies. Work involves issuing and receiving equipment to replenish stock, fulfilling customer request. Conducting inventory and location surveys to ensure proper accountability. Responsibilities include verifying National Stock Numbers (NSNs), item nomenclature, and quantities using systems such as GCSS-Army and FEDLOG. This worker ensures that materials are stored, maintained, and distributed according to established procedures and policies, while also identifying discrepancies, reporting shortages or damages, and maintaining accurate records. This position requires knowledge of Army supply systems, strong attention to detail, and the ability to support both routine and priority missions in a warehouse or supply environment. This worker may operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties to include manually controlled gasoline, electric or liquid propane gas powered forklift to transport goods and materials of all kinds about a warehouse, manufacturing plant, or other establishment.

     

    + Receives materials, parts, components and major assemblies.

    + Selects stock in quantities indicated by the document, report’s location discrepancies and damage to lead/supervisor. Assembles picked items and move stocks to locations (assembly or pickup areas) within a well-prescribed overall storage plan.

    + Re-stacks and re-warehouses items and straighten as needed and purify bin locations.

    + Uses FEDLOG and GCSS-Army to correct obvious mistakes, e.g., incorrect units of issue.

    + Pull and package Picks, verifying the NSN, quantity, unit of issue and condition code are in agreement with the item.

    + Expedite all high priority items.

    + Transfer stock to proper location or establish new location when the decision is obvious.

    + Operates various forklifts and high-rise equipment.

    + May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties. May use automated system.

    + Performs other duties as assigned

    Material & Equipment Directly Used:

    + Material Handling Equipment, i.e. Forklift trucks, electric and gasoline, up to 15K LB capacity. Computer knowledge for FEDLOG, Microsoft knowledge and GCSS-Army applications.

    Freedom to Act:

    + Reports to the Lead / Supervisor and functions independently under his/her direction.

    Working Environment/Physical Activities:

    + Work is generally conducted in a warehouse / shop environment. However, duties may involve the conduct of work in the out-of-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions.

    + Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs., stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting.

    + Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required is certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published Company work rules.

    + Steel toe boots are required.

    Security Clearance:

    + Must be US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) to obtain a CAC.

    + Must receive a favorable background check and drug testing results.

    Qualifications

    + Education: High School graduate or equivalent.

    + Experience: Two years’ experience in Supply with background in GCSS-Army operations and must have knowledge of shipping procedures.
