*The Philanthropy Associate II, Donor Relations and Stewardship,*plays a vital role in advancing the mission of the*University of Maryland Medicine (UMM)*by strengthening relationships with donors and prospects. This role supports key stewardship and donor engagement initiatives, ensuring donors feel valued and connected to the impact of their contributions. All employees are expected to work primarily physically within the State of Maryland.* *Primary Duties:* *Donor Cultivation & Stewardship* * Assist in developing and implementing strategies to engage and retain donors at all levels. * Support the preparation of compelling donor impact communications, stewardship reports, and other stewardship materials. *Data Management, Reporting, & Fund Compliance* * Ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of donor records in the Advance CRM system. * Record and track donor interactions, generating insights to support strategic engagement. * Prepare customized and ad hoc reports and help in maintaining compliance with fund usage requirements. * Collaborate with Development partners, including the Office of Student Affairs, Public Affairs, UMBOP, UMMS, and departments. *Donor Recognition, Impact Communication & Social Media Coordination* * Support the execution of meaningful donor recognition initiatives and special projects. * Coordinate communication strategies to highlight donor impact, enhancing donor experiences through personal acknowledgments, stories, and engagement events. * Assist with drafting and scheduling social media content that highlights donor stories, events, and impact. * Communicate with beneficiaries of donor philanthropy (students, faculty, patients, physicians, etc.) * Assist in facilitating donor engagement activities. *Cross-Team Collaboration* * Collaborate closely with gift officers and internal partners to ensure coordinated donor engagement. * Partner with various departments, including the Office of Student Affairs, and others, to create a seamless donor experience. *Administrative Support* * Provide general administrative support to the donor relations and stewardship team, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. * Involved in gift processing and day-to-day support activities, especially during peak times for donations. Due to the nature of fundraising and alumni relations, full office and telephone coverage are important operational needs that all employees share responsibility for. *Education:*Bachelor's degree. *Experience:*Two (2) years of fundraising, philanthropy, or client/customer relations experience. Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.) and content scheduling tools preferred. *OTHER:*Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education and experience requirement on a year -for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience. In instances where specific education and/or experience is required only directly related education and/or experience may be substituted. *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:* * An ability to gain an appropriate familiarity with all of the school’s various departments, centers, institutes, and programs. * Strategic and analytical thinking skills coupled with the ability to solve problems and show good judgment. * An ability to prioritize ongoing and new projects and gather information. * Oral/written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. * Strong written and verbal communication; excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with CRM databases (Advance or Raiser’s Edge NXT preferred). * Collaborative, mission-driven mindset, proactive problem-solver, ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. *Hiring Range: $54,000 - $59,000, commensurate with education and experience.* UMB is committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive workforce and is proud to be an equal employment opportunity employer.
