Summary You will serve as an INTERDISCIPLINARY ARCHITECTURAL HISTORIAN/HISTORIC ARCHITECT in the Environmental Business Line (EV) of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG SYSTEMS COMMAND PAC. Architectural Historian (0170) Salary Range for GS-12: $92,520.00 - $120,282.00 Historic Architect (0808) Salary Range for GS-12: $95, 044.00 - $122, 806.00 Responsibilities You will conduct section 106 consultation of the National Historic Preservation Act and prepare Section 106 agreement documents. You will prepare documents related to historic preservation including management plans, survey reports, treatment recommendations, statements of work and interpretive plans. You will serve as a subject matter expert in historic preservation and cultural resources management: conduct surveys, evaluations and supporting studies for National Register nominations. You will work collaboratively, as appropriate, with environmental staff members, contractors, and customers to identify historic property and cultural resources requirements, evaluate risks, and complete products and services. You will support NEPA analyses through preparation and review of NEPA documents, participation in public meetings, and provide related support for NHPA Section 106 consultations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Education History Series (0170) Degree: history; or related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history. OR Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in history, or a major in a related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Architecture Series (0808) Degree: architecture; or related field that included 60 semester hours of course work in architecture or related disciplines of which at least (1) 30 semester hours were in architectural design, and (2) 6 semester hours were in each of the following: structural technology, properties of materials and methods of construction, and environmental control systems. OR Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the arts and sciences underlying professional architecture, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the architectural principles, methods, and techniques and their applications to the design and construction or improvement of buildings.
