    Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the DHA for DIB/MRTFB in the DoD. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Responsibilities You will overhaul and repair a wide variety of aircraft systems and components which includes engines, avionics, landing gear, hydraulics, and air frames; You will test, calibrate and repair electrical and mechanical systems, including assemblies and subassemblies, using technical manuals and schematics; You will ensure that maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with safety standards, technical requirements, and regulatory guidelines; You will mentor and assist lower-level mechanics, providing guidance on standard practices and procedures. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. The Screen-out Element for WG-08 position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. 1) Operating, installing, and repairing a variety of major interrelated and/or integrated aircraft systems, subsystems and assemblies such as fuel systems, hydraulic systems, flight control systems, airframe and control surfaces; 2) Knowledge and skill in the use of standard and specialized tools and test equipment of the trade including fixtures, templates, scales, test stands, and external power sources; 3) Ability to diagnose issues with systems and recommend solutions; 4) Reading and interpreting blueprints and schematic diagrams; 5) Demonstrating a thorough understanding of safety regulations, practices and procedures. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection. The Screen-out Element for WG-10 position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. 1) Operating, installing, and repairing a variety of major interrelated and/or integrated aircraft systems, subsystems and assemblies such as fuel systems, hydraulic systems, flight control systems, airframe and control surfaces; 2) Ability to rig, function test, or troubleshoot systems, determine when they are operating properly and determine the extent of adjustment and alignment needed; 3) Knowledge and skill in the use of standard and specialized tools and test equipment of the trade including fixtures, templates, scales, test stands, and external power sources; 4) Ability to diagnose issues with systems and recommend solutions; 5) Reading and interpreting blueprints and schematic diagrams; 6) Demonstrating a thorough understanding of safety regulations, practices and procedures. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This position requires rotating shift work. This position requires exposure to high noise levels. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized. Several vacancies may be filled. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
