    **POSITION:** One \(1\) – Mechanic

    **DEPARTMENT:** Transportation

    **LOCATION** : Southborough, MA

     

    Starting Rate of Pay:$43\.45

     

    **CURRENTLY POSTED HOURS:** Shifts Required \(7:00am\-3:30pm and 3:00pm\- 11:00pm\)

    **JOB SUMMARY:** Mechanics will perform any repairs major and minor to engines, chassis and special equipment associated with the Company vehicles under supervision when necessary\. Mechanics will perform work of a lower classification and any other duties pertinent to the classification as required\.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Ability to perform physical work under a wide variety of working conditions and on shifts during hours other than normal and at times for extended periods\. Must have working knowledge of the principles, functions, operation and care of internal combustion engines/diesel engines and a basic knowledge of the repair and maintenance of automotive equipment normally gained in two years experience\. Possess a valid Massachusetts Driver's License and be capable and willing to get a Massachusetts Commercial Driver’s License\. Must have completed 4 years of Technical School training in auto mechanics or two years of on‑the‑job training\. CDL License preferred\.

     

    \- this position falls within our "safety sensitive" group of jobs and therefore anyone in this position would be subject to random drug and alcohol testing\.

     

    \- all employees of Eversource are given a Storm Restoration Assignment\. This means you may be called in to assist during an emergency outside your normal work hours and location\. All employees are expected to respond promptly and perform their storm restoration/ emergency assignment as a condition of employment\. During a storm, employees work extended shifts until storm restoration is complete\. An employee’s assignment may be their regular position OR could be a different role based at a different location\. Employees are expected to plan accordingly and perform their role regardless of weather, outside commitments, etc\.
