Overview
The Benefits Specialist is responsible for assisting with the enrollment and administration of all benefits for various employee groups including Corporate, Non-SCA, Service Contract Act (SCA) and CBA employees. The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, detailed oriented environment is essential.
This is a full-time hourly/non-exempt position.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
+ Ensures the accuracy of all employee benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information
+ Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork including medical, disability and FMLA
+ Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities
+ Performs quality checks of benefits-related data
+ Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes
+ Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility
+ Enrolls employees with insurance carriers and processes life status changes
+ Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries
+ Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to eligibility, enrollment, vesting, plan changes and contribution amounts
+ Communicates with insurance and 401(k) plan vendors on a regular basis
+ Responsible for yearly communication and notification of open enrollment process
+ Assists with annual 401(k) and Health & Welfare Trust audits
+ Gathers/maintains information to assist with accurate preparation of Form 1095C
+ Assist with other duties as needed
Qualifications
+ Knowledge of federal and state regulations including filing and compliance requirements affecting employee benefits programs including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, Social Security, and DOL requirements.
+ 2 years of recent experience in a benefits administration position.
Physical Requirements
Sedentary work -Occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds of force by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects. Work involves sitting most of the time; walking and standing are required only occasionally.
