Salary: $1925 / Week

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.

Minimum Requirements:

+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred

+ Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations

+ Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred

+ State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred

+ State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred

+ State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred

+ Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

+ Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

+ Current CPR if applicable

+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

+ Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

+ Must be at least 18 years of age

General Comments

We have a staffing need at Fife Elementary School. We are looking for a Full time Special Education TEACHER for one of our life skills classrooms. This classroom is for students with more complex needs and can encompass students grades K-5 (although it is typically more 2-4). There are two other teachers at FES that teach life skills classes so there is a great team. This classroom can have up to 10 students, but typically stays between 6-10. There are two program paras and possibly a 1:1 para support as well.

Fife's school hours are 8:30-4:00 (non-paid 30 min lunch) and includes daily planning. We can add time (with pre-approval) to attend IEP meetings and such.
