Job Description
This job opening is being used to fill current and future vacant positions in this classification at various shifts, locations and assigned days off.
**ORDER OF PREFERENCE:** The selection for Maintenance and Construction is made on the basis of fitness and ability with preference given to: Maintenance and Construction District, System-Wide (L689), Authority-Wide and external candidates, respectively.

+ High School Diploma or GED with Vocational or technical training in General electronics, with emphasis onPCboardrepair,Institute forInterconnectingandPackagingElectronicCircuitsIPC- 7711 B/7721 B certification for rework of electronic assemblies, repair and modification of printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies
_Twelve_** **_(12)_** **_months after_** **_an_** **_employee achieves_** **_a_** **_particular_** **_grade_** **_level_** **_(i.e._** **_Grades_** **_D,_** **_C, B,_** **_A_** **_and AA), he/she shall advance to the next grade level provided he/she has taken and passed the required written and practical test(s), acquired the applicable certifications and has met the other_** **_requirements._
Minimum** **Experience
+ **Level Helper** - One (1) year of experience working with electronics in assembly/repair production environment with duties to include troubleshooting and repair
+ The following can be substituted for one (1) year full-time work experience at ALL levels; three (3) years high school electrician training; two (2) years technical school electrician training or four (4) years college electrician training. Shorter periods of training require two (2) months additional experience for each month short on the training requirement.

Summary
The Mechanic Electronic Bench Technician is responsible for aligning, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying and overhauling electronic and electromechanical equipment sent to the Systems Maintenance repair shop. In addition, the employee also calibrates and certifies precision measuring equipment and assists in developing internal calibration standards using advanced principles of metrology as established by the National Bureau of Standards (NBS).
Essential Functions

+ Performsmajorrepairs, inspections,adjustments,testing, lubricationandmaintenanceon assigned Systems equipment to return equipment to a serviceable condition.
+ Modifies,renovates,andoverhaulsprecision measuringinstruments,diagnosingandisolatingall malfunctions for repair.
+ Inspects,calibrates,andcertifies instruments.
+ Observessystemcomponentsanddevicesinoperationandusescomplex electronictest equipment and other specialized tools to detect potential failures or locate causes of malfunctions·.
+ Testsrepairedcomponentstoensureworkdonehasbeenperformed withinacceptable standards.
+ Completesconfigurationcontrol documentationfortheinstallation,maintenance,andmodification of systems equipment.
