Overview
This role is hybrid in West Greenwich, RI. Candidate must live in or near Rhode Island.

As our Software Apps Eng III, you will have an active role in the implementation of our products on a worldwide scale. You can do this at the office or through a hybrid office/home arrangement.
BRIGHTSTAR’s breadth and depth of experience designing, implementing, and operating retail lottery systems is unmatched in the industry. Lotteries trust our systems for their high performance, stringent security, and streamlined operations. Brightstar provides retail lottery systems (managing both draw games and scratch cards) to 8 of the world’s top 10 lotteries and 16 of the top 25. Globally, more than 60 lotteries use Brightstar systems. In addition to supporting our customers’ retail games, we work with them to increase customer experience through mobile applications, instant win and online product suites and enhancements.

Responsibilities
Your job will include turning customer expectations for driving sales and administrative efficiencies into reality by implementing and delivering our innovative solutions.
• Applies a systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approach for modifications of existing applications, simple changes, reports and request for services with minimal direction.
• Designs and develops transaction processing systems, processes and enhancements for company's sophisticated systems design
• Participates in group design discussions and expected to understand basic transaction design concepts
• Basic Proficiency in Software Development, Software Design, Software Testing, Software Maintenance, Software Configuration Management, Software Engineering Tools and Software Quality
• Document processes and procedures related to the implementation and maintenance of transaction processing solutions
• Collaborates closely with the internal customer daily to cultivate a positive relationship. Listens to customers and asks the appropriate questions to determine their requirements
• Collaborates with other parts of the organization as the need arises to first share and analyze customer requirements and then develop and implement the best strategy and processes to meet those requirements
• Swiftly addresses customers' concerns or service level incidents by personally fixing issues, implementing solutions, or advancing the matter as needed.
Qualifications
• Good working experience with C/C++, Unix/Linux shell scripting, and DB2 SQL programming.
• Minimum 2 years of professional software development experience
• Basic understanding of transaction processing systems design
• Good command of the English language
Plus: Experience with JAVA, Spring framework, JAVA Script, Angular framework, or NodeJS

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting salary range is _$59,795 - $122,400_ . The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program. Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles may be eligible for short-term incentive or other discretionary bonuses. More senior roles maybe eligible for long-term incentive bonuses. In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance. Note: programs are subject to eligibility requirements.
