    Job Description

    Insight Globals client, an explosive manufacturing company, is seeking to hire an IT Field Technician to support their plant operations by maintaining proprietary infrastructure, managing data transfers, and ensuring secure and efficient communication systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with fiber splicing, CAT 5 splicing, server support, and general IT support, along with strong organizational and communication skills. This position will be both indoors and outdoors throughout the day and will support the plant with technical and administrative support.

     

    • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot systems across the plant.

    • Support large scale servers.

    • Perform fiber optic splicing and testing using industry-standard tools.

    • Execute CAT 5 cable splicing and ensure compliance with technical specifications.

    • Assist with upgrades and expansions of communication infrastructure.

    • Implement and monitor security protocols.

    • Provide technical support for plant staff including hardware setup, software installation, and troubleshooting.

    • Maintain inventory of IT equipment and manage lifecycle replacements.

    • Scribe for new and existing SOPs, policy updates and training documentation.

     

    pay range: $25-28/hr

    Skills and Requirements

     

    Experience in a technical role – troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining systems

     

    Proficient with MS server support

     

    Strong organizational skills

     

    Experience with MS suite – word, excel, PowerPoint

     

    Experience with scanning and printing

     

    Basic networking skills

     

    Ability to walk around the plant and lift up to 50lbs Experience with fiber and CAT 5 splicing
