    Job Description

    A client in the North Houston area is looking for an Application Solution Architect to join their team, focused on modernizing a long-standing drilling software platform. A typical day will involve working across legacy systems and modern technologies including Angular, .NET, and microservices, while helping guide the transition into cloud and AI-driven architecture. This person will be responsible for setting the technical direction for AI integration—particularly Copilot-style augmentation—and helping design and construct scalable solutions without completely reinventing the existing software base, which has been trusted for over 40 years. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in enterprise architecture, cloud platforms (Azure or AWS), and a solid understanding of software design principles. While direct drilling experience is not required, familiarity with highly technical domains is preferred. This person must be comfortable working with multiple teams and stakeholders and have the ability to communicate architectural vision clearly across groups. Previous experience in object-oriented design and leading modernization efforts is highly desirable. This is a direct hire position with a salary range of $150K–$180K.

    Skills and Requirements

    Strong experience in enterprise application architecture and solution design

    Hands-on development background with Angular and .NET

     

    Familiarity with legacy systems and microservices architecture

     

    Proven experience designing and implementing cloud solutions (Azure or AWS)

     

    Demonstrated ability to lead AI integration efforts, especially Copilot-style augmentation

     

    Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and executive teams

     

    Experience in object-oriented design and technical domain environments EDT Software Experience
