Job Summary:
The HIM ROI Technician processes all requests for release of information while complying with Federal/State laws and regulations. The Protected Health Information (PHI) may be sent to health care facilities, physicians, attorneys, third party payers, insurance companies, law enforcement, patients, and their authorized representatives.
You will provide tier 2 support of myChart issues reported by patients and perform technical support duties including resetting passwords, establishing accounts, and communicating status requests.
In this onsite role, you serve as the medical record custodian designee by certifying medical records as a public notary as requested. You will determine the validity of authorization and/or type of request, verify patient requests, or identify authorized entities.

REQUIREMENTS
+ Associate degree in Health Information Management or related field or currentlyenrolled in a CAHIIM (Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information
+ Management) approved Program or equivalent combination of education, training, andexperience
+ 2 years' experience in health information management, physician office,clinical or hospital business office, comparable experience, or applicable college education
+ Public NotaryCertification or Eligible to become a Notary Public within 90 days of hire if onsite
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
+ Degree in CAHIIM (Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management) approved program
+ Knowledge of medical record practice, health information applications with emphasis onmedico legal aspects, HIPAA, and other federal, state, and laws and regulations
+ AHIMA Certifications of RHIT, RHIA or CHPS
