    Role: Set up and operate all types of standard and special machines generally in production areas to machine a wide variety of complicated production work to very close tolerances on interrelated locations to drawings, instructions, make repairs, fixtures, etc., perform any necessary layout work, use any hand tools required, etc., may direct others, and perform related duties.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    + Set-up and operate CNC mill and turn machines and manual machines

    + Work with types of materials involved such as castings, forgings, screw machine blanks, turret lathe blanks, sawed blanks and bar stock

    + Set-up involve changing chuck jaws, tool holders, fixtures, boring bars, drills, reamers, and setting tools

    + Work to established Lean Manufacturing guidelines involving one-piece flow, standard work, 6S, set-up reduction and wet process lines

    + Maintain high housekeeping standards to ensure safe and efficient work areas, including cleaning chips from around machine and keeping coolant / machine fluids off shop floor and maintaining organization of work area to established standards

    + Make decisions based on experience & available data

    + Perform other duties as required

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    + High School Diploma / GED

    + Minimum 2 years of machining experience including both CNC mill and turn machines and additional production equipment

    + Demonstrated experience or successful completion of classes in geometric tolerancing

    + Demonstrated work experience in reading and interpreting blueprints

     

    _This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
