Description
The Division of Clinical Genetics seeks a part-time (0.50 FTE) Medical Geneticist to provide outstanding patient care, teach learners across levels, and contribute to divisional programs that span pediatric, adult, cancer, and metabolic genetics. Our service includes a NYS-designated Clinic of Inborn Metabolic Disorders, an active inpatient consult service, and collaborative programs (e.g., Ocular Genetics, Craniofacial Genetics), with robust education (including an MS in Genetic Counseling) and opportunities for clinical or laboratory research.
• Faculty appointment at the Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor level, commensurate with experience.
• Part-time schedule (0.50 FTE) with services primarily January–September, combining in-person clinics in Rochester with telemedicine (from within New York State) and defined on-site call weeks; maintain Strong Memorial Hospital medical staff appointment and clinical privileges.
• Inclusive of teaching responsibilities for medical students, residents, fellows, and MSGC students; participation in divisional/departmental activities.
Qualifications
• MD/DO (or MD-PhD) with board certification/eligibility in Medical Genetics (Clinical Genetics and/or Clinical Biochemical Genetics); eligible for New York licensure.
• Maintenance of certification in Pediatrics (ABP) and Clinical Genetics (ABMGG); ability to obtain/maintain hospital privileges and payer enrollments.
• Demonstrated excellence in clinical genetics; commitment to education, professionalism, and the Medical Center’s ICARE values.
• Comfort with telemedicine from a residence within New York State (remote clinical work from outside approved U.S. jurisdictions is not permitted).

The referenced pay range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, the individual's experience, and expertise, with consideration to related position salaries. Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
