Description
The Digital Delivery Manager will be responsible for facilitating and overseeing digital services for the Grid Modernization and Distribution Planning (GM&DP) business line, including automation management and development, tool and software assessments, and technology stack management and optimization. Key roles include supporting the execution of projects across all offices within the business line, supporting business strategy outlined by the business line leads and managing directors, developing high-performing teams, supporting quality reviews, and promoting the Burns & McDonnell culture, values, and mission.
The Digital Delivery Manager will report directly to the Business Line Lead of the GM&DP business line within 1898 & Co. and will support the Business Line on a national level. The Digital Delivery Manager will be responsible at the Business Line level for automation management and development, new markets and services, best practices and training, and technology stack management and optimization. The Digital Delivery Manager must support the Business Line in a dynamic and profitable manner based on Burns & McDonnell's core values of client satisfaction, commitment, dedication, integrity, safety, and overall outstanding service, as well as the 1898 & Co. transformative traits of tenacious problem solvers, curious seekers, unselfish collaborators, and grit.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
+ Develop and execute the digital strategy for the GM&DP business line.
+ Drive innovation through AI, digital tools, and automation technologies.
+ Support, maintain and actively develop core automation tools to support the execution of project work in the business line, both directly and with the support of other staff within the business line.
Operational Integration
+ Identify the service offerings
+ Partner with project managers to identify and implement automation opportunities to improve project processes.
+ Establish processes and best practices that others can easily leverage to support profitable growth of the Business Line, including pursuing new markets or products utilizing current core services.
+ Participate in and function as a department liaison to the Digital Delivery committee within 1898 & Co.
+ Provide strategic feedback to project managers on the efficient execution of projects.
+ Achieve stated targets and standards for financial performance.
Business Development
+ Responsible for managing and collaborating with business development managers, managing directors, business line leads, project managers, and proposal production staff on software management and procurement and vendor partnership.
Collaboration & Coordination
+ Facilitate digital delivery coordination across regions, departments, and other business lines.
+ Coordinate best practice training regarding tools and automation for the business line.
Leadership and Project Execution
+ Provide expert-level technical guidance and support.
+ Mentor and train less experienced staff on technical and business aspects of projects and the industry; serve as a recognized industry-leader in distribution planning and evaluation; support company initiatives.
+ Provide leadership to the team; direct and review performance to ensure the efficient, cost-effective execution of projects.
+ Provide leadership, guidance, instruction, and strategic one-on-one meetings with business line staff.
+ Work with Business Line leadership to document, publish and maintain quality processes and maintain alignment core quality guidelines.
Other Duties
+ Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Preferred Experience & Skills
+ Deep and broad base of knowledge regarding electric distribution systems and distribution system planning processes.
+ Extensive experience with distribution planning, studies, and operations such as load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination; distribution standards, policies, and procedures; risk assessment techniques; generator interconnection; and harmonics analysis.
+ Strong computer skills using industry software such as CYME, Synergi, WindMil, ETAP, and SKM.
+ Demonstrated ability to independently manage a distribution system planning study with execution support from other staff.
+ Ability to develop, support and manage automated workflows performing a variety of steady state and transient stability simulations utilizing industry standard software.
+ Demonstrated ability to provide independent evaluation, selection, adaptation, and modification of standard engineering techniques for electric distribution system planning procedures and criteria.
+ Proven ability to lead, educate, and train a team of engineers and analysts in regard to distribution system planning studies.
+ Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams of engineers and analysts.
+ General business and financial calculation knowledge
+ Effective Project Management skills
+ Ability to work with existing and new clients to identify new projects, articulate to the clients our ability to perform those projects, and translate that into the sale of consulting services.
+ Ability to communicate with various business contacts to understand their needs and translate them into a scope of work that meets their desired outcomes.
+ Ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines, and to be effective in on-site work environments.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, including the identification of critical path items to ensure deliverable deadlines are met.
+ Ability to focus on the big picture to effectively and efficiently provide services that meet client needs, while also having the ability to identify and analyze details that are critical to project outcomes.
+ Willingness to learn new service offerings as client needs and the market require changes to the service offerings provided by our group.
+ Willingness and ability to develop a broad set of service offering types to allow for flexibility to go where the work is.
+ Willingness to cross-sell other services offered by Burns & McDonnell outside the project manager’s core set of services.
+ Willingness to negotiate with clients for new service agreements.
+ Position requires the ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.
+ Must possess strong people management skills, interpersonal skills, project management experience, and a strategic perspective.
+ Must be proficient in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
+ Must have the ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of industry, government, and public contracts on project-related matters.
+ Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Professional Registration preferred.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in virtual design and construction, Engineering Technology, or a related field from an accredited program and 8 years of experience planning, training, organizing, and delivering complex BIM models and related digital products across project teams or
+ Associate Degree from an accredited program in a related field and 10 years of experience planning, training, organizing, and delivering complex BIM models and related digital products across project teams or
+ 12 years of experience planning, training, organizing, and delivering complex BIM models and related digital products across project teams in lieu of a degree.
+ Understands Traditional project deliverables.
+ Understands digital delivery software and standards.
+ Ability to integrate multiple BIM models across various software platforms.
+ Expert facilitation, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead and manage.
+ Excellent planning and analytical skills.
+ Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
+ Ability to execute and integrate DD into EPC projects.
