Job Summary and Qualifications
The Speech Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered care by developing and conducting individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments. As a member of the health care team, the Speech Therapist performs comprehensive patient assessments and establishes appropriate treatment goals. The Speech Therapist serves as an educator to patients, families, students and colleagues.
What you will do in this role:
+ Responsible for planning and administering medically prescribed treatment programs for the rehabilitation of speech, language, cognitive and oral motor disorders.
+ Evaluation of patients for Speech Pathology according to department standards and based on referral.
+ Provides appropriate treatment of patients based on treatment plan.
+ Completes medical records based on department policy.
+ Demonstrates fiscal responsibility.
+ Follows Department policy.
+ Demonstrates effective communication.
+ Demonstrates active involvement in continued learning.
+ Participates in the student program.
+ Demonstrates accountability for productivity.
+ Participates in department operations and program development.
What qualifications you will need:
+ Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
EDUCATION:
+ Master's Degree in Speech Language pathology **_required_** .
LICENSURE:
+ Must be currently licensed by the state as a Speech Language Pathologist.
+ Current BLS for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association or CPR through American Red Cross
EXPERIENCE:
+ Previous experience in an acute care hospital setting **_required_** .
