Required Skills:
Principal Technical Animator Responsibilities:
1. Work with the character art team to produce professional rigs for animation.
2. Produce tools to improve the efficiency of the animation pipeline.
3. Work with designers and programmers on a daily basis.
4. Work closely with Art Directors and Leads to ensure the highest quality assets are delivered.
5. Utilize mastery of niche industry software (Maya) to define and build tools necessary to the function of the entire art department.
6. Design and Develop all standards, practices and tools used to export assets from source programs directly into our specialized engine.
7. Identify and address workflow inefficiencies within our art and animation teams, optimizing timelines and reducing development costs.
8. Collaborate with directors and creative stakeholders to define timelines, scope and long-term development strategies.
Minimum Qualifications:

9. Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Film and Animation or related field and 6 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation
10. Experience must include 6 years in the following:
11. 1. Game development as a technical animator with successful shipped game
12. 2. Animating in Maya
13. 3. Developing animation rigs for characters and props
14. 4. Developing and maintaining animation tools and pipelines
15. 5. Programming and scripting in languages such as C++, C#, Python, JavaScript or equivalent for tool creation
16. 6. Physical simulation scenarios such as cloth and fluid dynamics, and how to translate that into game ready data
Public Compensation:
$212,527/year to $245,300/year + bonus + equity + benefits
