Manager, Operations
**Allied Mineral Products** is a leading manufacturer of monolithic refractories worldwide. We are looking for an experienced and dynamic leader to take on the role of **Manager, Operations** at our refractory manufacturing facility located at our global headquarters. The successful candidate will be tasked with managing daily operations, optimizing efficiency, productivity, and quality across all manufacturing processes. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with safety regulations, production planning, strategic and capital investment planning, and employee management. The ideal candidate will drive innovation and excellence, elevating our operations to new heights.
Key Responsibilities include:
+ **Safety Compliance** : Promote and enforce safety protocols within the plant, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
+ **Operational Management** : Oversee and manage the daily operations of the manufacturing plant, ensuring timely production and delivery of refractory products. _Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and for assessing productivity levels and operational efficiency._
+ **Organizational Change Management:** Inspire, lead, and manage change initiatives within the plant, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions to operations. Facilitate communication and training to help employees adapt to new processes and technologies.
+ **Innovation:** Introduce new ideas, methods, and technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of processes and internal operations. Collaborate with supervisors, engineering, maintenance and cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative solutions and continuous improvement of existing systems.
+ **Apply Engineering Mindset to Manufacturing:** Apply engineering principles to daily operational tasks, creating structured, quantitative controls and methodologies in the manufacturing process. Regularly apply analytical tools to problem identification, solution determination and success measures.
+ **Quality Control** : Maintain adherence to our stringent quality control measures to ensure that all products meet the highest standards of excellence.
+ **Resource Allocation** : Efficiently manage resources including materials, equipment, and human resources to optimize production and minimize costs.
+ **Employee Management** : Lead and motivate a team of employees, providing training and development opportunities to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
+ **Cost Control** : Monitor and control operational costs, implementing cost-saving strategies without compromising on quality or efficiency.
+ **Reporting** : Prepare and present regular reports on plant performance, including production metrics, operational issues, and improvement initiatives.
+ **Capital Investment & Strategic Planning** : Develop and submit annual budgets, capital expenditure requests, and business plan to the executive committee to enhance plant performance, increase productivity, and achieve organizational objectives.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. Advanced degree and/or training with Lean or Six-Sigma considered a plus.
+ Minimum of 10 years of experience in plant management within the manufacturing.
+ Strong leadership and management skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.
+ In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
+ Familiarity with manufacturing software and tools, as well as proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
+ Relevant certifications in plant management or manufacturing are an asset.
