Summary:

The Bureau of Social Care and Community Supports works to integrate health and human services within the Medicaid program. The bureau is composed of two units, Housing and Social Determinants of Health. This position is in the Social Determinants of Health unit and will assist with implementation of a new certification process for medical respite programs (MRPs) in NYS. The position will have primary responsibility for evaluating MRP compliance with physical site requirements established in 10 NYCRR §1007.

Tasks include:

+ Evaluating floor plans, fire safety surveys, and building inspection documentation submitted with MRP certification applications;

+ Conducting on-site inspections of MRPs to verify compliance with 10 NYCRR §1007, _2020 Building Code of New York State_ , and _2020 Fire Code of New York State_ ;

+ Assisting with development of inspection tool, desk audit tool, guidance documents, and/or training materials related to MRP physical site requirements;

+ Assisting with other aspects of application processing and MRP performance evaluation, such as engaging with applicant MRPs to clarify physical site information and/or obtain missing documentation; responding to relevant stakeholder questions submitted to the team’s shared mailbox; and collaborating with external contractor to develop workflows for site inspections and desk audits.

Basic Qualifications:

+ 8 years of professional experience

+ Valid driver’s license required

+ Applicant must be a Certified Building Safety Inspector (BSI) qualified to perform fire safety and property maintenance inspections pursuant to 19 NYCRR Part 1208 **_or_** be willing to attend on-the-job trainings and pass exams to obtain BSI certification.

+ The applicant must also have solid writing and verbal communication skills and general familiarity with Windows operating system and common software, such as Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Pro.

+ Preferred experience doing surveillance or compliance

Compensation for roles at Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO) varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, SSO provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, SSO provides a range of benefits for this role.

Under the federal laws relating to the F-1 STEM EAD program, SSO may be able to support a STEM EAD extension application at the sole discretion of your Designated School Official.
