Position Summary

Performs the primary functions of a certified registered nurse anesthetist and administers anesthetics to surgical, obstetrical, dental and emergency patients. Maintains high department competence and vigilance when caring for patients throughout the perioperative process. Keeps accurate and timely records including QA. Assists with the administration of the anesthesia department inventory control, and the general running of the department. Attends requisite meetings and functions that pertain to the performance and function of the department of anesthesia. Promotes teamwork within the operating room and hospital, with the Medical Staff, nursing personnel and other departments. Promotes a level of professionalism with all team members to render the highest quality care for all patients.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Licensed by North Carolina Board of Nursing. Graduate from an accredited school of anesthesia. At least 2 years of experience as a nurse anesthetist. Maintains continued education credits for AANA re-certification. Pursues programs of continuing education consistent with requirements of Granville Health System. Participates in educational conferences and updates, maintains licensure as a registered nurse and a certified registered nurse anesthetist. Maintains professional knowledge and skills to all areas of responsibilities.
