Description
The Worldwide Design Engineering (WWDE) CAD team is seeking a CAD Engineer to complement our team. This individual will be responsible for creating detailed drawings and models of warehouse designs, material handling equipment (transport conveyors), and work areas based on conceptual models and design requirements. They would also provide design support for conceptual models under development. Drawings and models will require a high level of detail in plan views, corresponding elevation views, and sheets showing dimensions, callouts, and notations.
In this role you will:
• Work to translate drawings and models of fulfillment centers from a high-level conceptual design to a highly detailed firm engineered model
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to select the best material handling equipment types for various applications across multiple systems
• Verify and publish Bill of Materials (BOM) based on created models for distribution to production and manufacturing partners
• Create detailed mechanical installation sheets, providing the locations and physical space requirements of material handling conveyors
• Manage multiple projects and tasks in parallel

Basic Qualifications
- Experience in management of engineering design projects
- Experience in AutoCAD 3D
- Experience in Design/Innovation, research & development, manufacturing, process, industrial engineering, or related work
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other STEM field, or 5+ years Amazon experience
- 2+ years in Design/Innovation Engineering, Manufacturing/Process/Industrial Engineering, or related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing complex systems for automation in logistics or manufacturing, or experience with product development in automotive, aerospace, automation equipment or related field
- 4+ years experience in a fast-paced design environment utilizing both AutoCAD and Revit
- Familiarity with 3D solid modeling software
- Familiarity with online file document management systems, such as BIM360 and ACC

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
