Salary: Starting at $30.31/hour, depends on experience Primary Duties: The Consumer Protection Division has an open position for a legal assistant which includes the following duties: + Supports the division chief and two deputy attorneys general with consumer protection and charitable trust cases in state and federal court. + Formats and proofreads letters, pleadings, and other documents. + Files in iCourt and Pacer. + Coordinates office calendars, schedules meetings, and submits attorney travel requests. + Communicates with the courts and opposing counsel. + Assists with public record requests. + Maintains electronic case files, manages incoming mail, and performs other assigned duties. Minimum Qualifications: + Minimum three years of relevant legal and technical experience in a fast-paced legal office. + Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills. + Exceptional communication, writing and grammar, editing, telephone, and customer service skills are required. + Self-motivated and independent worker willing and able to develop professional relationships with applicable Consumer Protection and OAG staff. + Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately. + Strong computer skills and effective use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Outlook. + Experience with Excel, iCourt, Pacer, and document management programs.
