Medical Assistant

Job Description

Join the Neurology Department as a Medical Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in supporting our physicians and ensuring a seamless experience for our patients. While the physicians handle most hands-on patient care, you will focus on administrative duties and patient interaction, contributing to the high-quality care we provide.

Responsibilities

+ Handle patient check-in, check-out, and vitals.

+ Assist with rooming patients and preparing them for examinations.

+ Measure and record vital signs accurately.

+ Perform basic lab tests as required.

+ Take calls from patients and manage new and return patient contact.

+ Record and update patient medical histories in EPIC EHR system.

+ Monitor supply inventory, ensuring adequate supplies and equipment availability.

+ Clean and stock exam rooms when necessary.

Essential Skills

+ Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA/RMA) certification.

+ Experience with the EPIC EHR system.

+ At least 1 year of experience as a medical assistant in any discipline.

+ Patient registration and scheduling skills.

+ Proficiency in taking vitals and rooming patients.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Completed a Medical Assistant program.

+ Updated BLS certification.

+ Experience with phlebotomy is a plus.

Work Environment

This position is based in a clinical setting within the Neurology Department. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
