Chemistry Laboratory Technician

Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Fragrance Laboratory Technician, where you will play a pivotal role in testing and creating unique fragrances. This position offers the chance to learn basic wet chemistry and bench techniques, ideal for those eager to grow their careers in a fast-paced lab environment.

Responsibilities

+ Conduct physical property testing, specific gravity testing, and pH testing.

+ Compound and create individual fragrances, restock and refill the lab.

+ Test incoming product, in-process samples, and final samples before dispatching to customers.

+ Document laboratory activities and occasionally retrieve items from the production floor.

+ Manage compounding and testing of 12-20 formulas daily.

+ Collaborate with peers to ensure timely product dispatch.

Essential Skills

+ Degree in a science-related field (Bachelor or Associate).

+ Lab experience (academic experience is acceptable).

+ Background in a work environment, preferably having worked while attending school.

+ Knowledge of chemistry, laboratory processes, and quality control.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in lab testing preferred.

+ Experience in fast-paced environments such as restaurants or customer service.

+ Comfortable with contract work that may be extended.

+ Eager to learn and grow within the organization.

Work Environment

This role is based in a fragrance lab within a manufacturing environment, similar to other chemical companies. The work involves physical testing of fragrances, so individuals with sensitivities to smell may not be suitable. The lab team includes 3 perfumers and 2-3 lab technicians who assist in operations. Expect a fast-paced environment that requires autonomy and reliability. Monday through Friday 8 to 5pm.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maryland Heights, Missouri.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
