    Job Title: Test Tech/soldering tech

    Job Description

    We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electronics Technician to join our team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with a strong drive and a passion for electronics. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including soldering, schematic reading, and basic computer skills. They will be helping to maintain and set-up test fixtures for state-of-the-art IoT Connected Utilities Metering Devices.

    Responsibilities

    + Identify and troubleshoot electronic issues efficiently.

    + Work well in a team environment, while also being self-motivated and capable of working independently.

    + Exhibit strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information.

    + Perform soldering and place Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) parts by hand.

    + Read and interpret electronic schematics accurately.

    + Demonstrate mechanical skills for various tasks.

    + Be willing to perform basic tasks such as cleaning out the lab.

    + Install software and use applications like Excel and Word.

    + Understand the basics of revision control systems such as SVN or Git.

    + Edit and navigate Confluence, and work with databases for test fixtures using command line.

    + Have a basic understanding of programming, with a heavier focus on electronics.

    + Modify circuit boards by removing small parts and performing fine-point soldering as needed.

    + Be proactive and vocal about potential issues.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in soldering and Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) placement.

    + Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics.

    + Basic computer skills, including software installation and use of Excel and Word.

    + Familiarity with revision control systems such as SVN or Git.

    + Basic understanding of programming.

    + Strong communication skills and problem-solving capabilities.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + An Associate's Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or similar field.

    + Entry-level position; prior experience is a plus but not required.

    + A strong focus on electronics and willingness to learn on the job.

    Work Environment

    This position is onsite at a dedicated facility. Employees will gain exposure to lab procedures and testing of high-tech IoT connected metering devices. This long-term role includes a minimum commitment of 52 weeks. The company offers two weeks of PTO and 10 billable holidays

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
