    Job Title: R&D Software Engineer

    Job Description

    As an R&D Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining effective, efficient, and reliable code. You will program in C, C++, and C#, and work with Microsoft Visual Studio on the Windows operating system. Your role will involve coding, testing, and documenting PC-based graphical user interfaces for the setup, control, and calibration of sensor-based recycling equipment.

    Responsibilities

    + Encode project requirements by converting workflow information into computer language.

    + Arrange project requirements in programming sequence by analyzing requirements and preparing a workflow chart and diagram.

    + Confirm program operation by conducting tests and modifying program sequences or codes.

    + Maintain historical records by documenting program development and revisions.

    + Support the R&D engineering team by assisting in testing and debugging real-time software, firmware, and programmable logic.

    + Participate in the design, architecture definition, and technical specifications of new products or enhancements.

    + Perform coding of new modules according to specifications.

    + Investigate, analyze, correct, and document reported defects.

    + Create, document, and implement unit test plans, scripts, and test harnesses.

    + Create and maintain technical documentation.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in C++, C#, and Embedded C.

    + Experience with HMI Development and Visual Studio.

    + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

    + 1+ years of experience as a C++ Developer. (Internships or college projects count)

    + Excellent programming and IT skills.

    + Strong mathematical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Passionate and hands-on approach.

    + Understanding of TCP/IP protocol.

    + Working knowledge of general electronics, industrial machine controls, and real-time data processing.

    + Familiarity with Windows OS and Microsoft Visual Studio.

    + Ability to maintain quality, safety, and control standards.

    Work Environment

    The work environment involves working with advanced technologies and equipment, including embedded microcontrollers, PCs, CPLDs, and FPGAs. You will collaborate closely with system and solutions architects, and participate in innovative solution design. The role requires adhering to quality and safety standards and involves maintaining technical documentation to support team knowledge.

    Job Type & Location

    This is a full-time position based out of Nashville, Tennessee.Monday through Friday 40 hours a week.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.46/hr.
