    Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer (Rolled Steel) Job Description

     

    We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer with a strong knowledge of quality control techniques, similar to automotive practices, and expertise in TS standards. You will play a crucial role in ensuring product quality requirements are met from New Product Introduction (NPI) through production and installation. Your ability to effect change and solve problems will be essential as you work with construction and project managers on large-scale construction projects.

    Responsibilities

    + Collaborate with suppliers and construction/project managers to ensure product quality requirements are fulfilled.

    + Provide rapid response to emerging field issues, assisting in containment at project sites and suppliers' facilities.

    + Validate containment, identify root causes for quality issues, and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions.

    + Report back to headquarters weekly, escalating critical concerns that require immediate attention.

    + Lead ISO audits and manage supplier quality, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

    + Organize and manage documentation effectively, maintaining detailed records of quality processes.

    Essential Skills

    + Six Sigma Green Belt certification.

    + Expertise in process improvement and quality assurance.

    + Proficiency in Automotive Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), including document verification, process validation, and production feedback.

    + Ability to perform supplier audits and analysis, applying ISO 9001 standards.

    + Proficient in root cause analysis and supplier quality management.

    + Understanding of ASTM Steel standards.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 10 years of experience in quality control for steel manufacturing or aerospace/automotive industries.

    + Experience leading ISO audits and managing supplier quality.

    + Strong organizational and documentation management skills.

    + Proficiency in Mandarin is required.

    + Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred, or a Trade or Technical School certificate/diploma.

    + Ability to travel, sometimes with minimal notice.

    + Experience with manufacturing floor quality control techniques, including IQC, process control plans, and outgoing inspection procedures.

    Work Environment

    This position is based in our new office located in Nashville, TN. The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, with a focus on leading the energy transition by providing comprehensive solar tracker and software solutions for solar power plants. The role may require occasional travel.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Nashville, Tennessee.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $44.57 - $60.10/hr.
