Job Title: Controls EngineerJob Description
We are seeking a contract Controls Engineer to join our engineering team, working on the shop floor to support various functions. Your role will help free up our core team of engineers to focus on design and programming tasks.
Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with the machine build team to verify controls logic and software for all new machinery.
+ Ensure all devices, such as VFDs, sensors, and safety systems, are correctly integrated and communicating.
+ Troubleshoot control panels and debug programming issues for new machines.
+ Test machinery parameters to meet customer specifications.
+ Apply electrical knowledge to develop schematic and panel drawings, BOMs, and machine logic, as well as product changes and enhancements.
+ Solve electrical problems from the component to the system level.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting and programming.
+ Experience with Rockwell, Autocad, and ladder logic.
+ Knowledge of Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs.
+ Experience with commissioning and working with packaging equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ BSEE or 5+ years of relevant experience is highly preferred.
+ Ability to write ladder logic.
+ Experience designing and troubleshooting electrical controls for industrial equipment.
+ A strong desire to be hands-on with machinery for troubleshooting and debugging.
Work Environment
The company, a 45-year-old machinery builder with over 50% market share in the packaging machinery industry, offers a collaborative work environment in Jeffersontown. You will spend most of your time on the plant floor troubleshooting and verifying equipment. The company is locally owned and recognized for its strong culture and working environment. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with no travel required.

This is a Contract position based out of LOUISVILLE, Kentucky.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
