Job Title: Quality Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician to oversee the product review process from start to finish. This role involves significant involvement in the ramp-up for the snow season, requiring expertise in basic measurements using micrometers and calipers. Experience in Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) is advantageous. The technician will track the process starting from the fabrication shop, through the weld shop, to the final product, utilizing programs like Excel, SharePoint, and Minitab for documentation. The work will be evenly split between documentation and hands-on tasks.

Responsibilities

+ Review products throughout the production line from the fab shop to the final product.

+ Utilize micrometers and calipers for basic measurements.

+ Document processes using Excel, SharePoint, and Minitab.

+ Understand and apply different measurement scales and terminologies.

+ Perform measurement conversions and solve basic math problems.

+ Select appropriate measuring tools and techniques for specific characteristics.

+ Measure using surface plate layouts.

+ Collaborate with various departments to reduce waste and improve quality.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, and quality control inspections.

+ Strong knowledge of basic mathematical operations.

+ Ability to perform measurement conversions and solve equations.

+ Capability to read and understand blueprints in detail.

+ Effective problem-solving and diagnostic skills.

+ Strong communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with CMM is a plus.

+ Quality certifications such as PPAP are advantageous.

+ Experience with Excel documentation

Work Environment

The position involves working across two different plants, including the fab shop and the manufacturing/assembly floor. The role requires working along inspection lines to ensure quality control while contributing to the company's efforts to reduce waste costs. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
