Job Title: Wet Chemistry and Sample Coordinating Laboratory Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Wet Chemistry and Sample Coordinating Laboratory Technician to join our team. This role involves testing, analyzing, and reporting accurate and timely results within our Miscellaneous Wet Chemistry and Sample Coordinating, Intake and Processing labs. Our fast-paced, high-volume commercial labs utilize wet chemistry, high-tech instrumentation, and food processing techniques to test food samples ranging from ingredients to finished products. You will be at the forefront of ensuring the accuracy of lab testing results used to support claims listed on food labels.
Responsibilities
+ Organize workload and prioritize samples to maximize output and meet deadlines.
+ Execute laboratory methods as written.
+ Deliver results by due date by completing analysis, data interpretation, and reporting.
+ Follow preparation techniques for processing samples, including grinding and labeling.
+ Record sample preparation techniques and details into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
+ Comply with quality requirements and address quality control issues as needed.
+ Perform routine instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
+ Maintain a work environment that complies with safety rules.
+ Provide cross-functional support as business needs dictate.
+ Handle multiple tasks and projects with minimal guidance.
+ Assist in projects and studies to support business units.
+ Support the evaluation of new test methods.
+ Develop and maintain lab procedures.
+ Participate in customer and accreditation audits.
+ Contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory operations.
+ Implement training of lab personnel through effective cross-training plans.
Essential Skills
+ 1-3 years of experience.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, Biology, or related field.
+ Knowledge of basic lab skills.
+ Proficiency in basic analytical and/or food chemistry testing.
+ Understanding of laboratory quality systems, statistics, and document control.
+ Ability to manually calculate analytical test results.
+ Strong knowledge of analytical instrumentation and data analysis.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Proficient with Word, Excel, and other PC skills.
+ Strong organizational and leadership skills.
+ Independent decision-making and high attention to detail.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in a GLP/GMP Food Testing environment is preferred.
+ Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with individuals from various backgrounds.
+ Flexibility and adaptability.
+ Ability to stand for long periods.
Work Environment
The work environment offers a Monday through Friday shift from 7am to 3pm onsite. Working in the Medallion Laboratory provides an opportunity to contribute to impactful projects and collaborate with a team of over 100 veteran scientists. The lab is ISO/IEC accredited, ensuring high-quality standards and offering a broad range of testing opportunities. The environment is innovative, mission-driven, and focused on customer satisfaction, providing a platform for professional growth in the field of nutritional testing.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
