Job Title: Chemistry Technician II Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Chemistry Technician II to join our dynamic team. This role involves planning and executing projects under supervision, focusing on various methods of performance, transfer, development, feasibility, and validation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in operating and calibrating a range of laboratory equipment and instruments.
Responsibilities
+ Plan, perform, and complete projects under direct supervision.
+ Conduct method performance, transfer, development, feasibility, and validation.
+ Operate, adjust, and calibrate laboratory equipment, including HPLC, GC, Dissolution, Disintegration, IC, TLC, Titration, Specific Rotation, KF, FT-IR, LOD, Friability, UV/Vis, ICP, MS, CVAA.
+ Independently perform lab tests to determine physical and chemical characteristics.
+ Analyze data and perform technical assessments.
+ Utilize data acquisition software and instrument operating software such as Cerity and WinLab.
+ Apply standard concepts, practices, procedures, and regulations within the lab.
+ Work under general supervision, demonstrating a degree of independence and judgment.
+ Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in HPLC, wet chemistry, and stability testing.
+ 1-4 years of related industry experience in an analytical laboratory.
+ Knowledge of analytical chemistry and laboratory safety precautions.
+ Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
+ Ability to understand and communicate technical and business information effectively.
+ Intermediate mathematical skills including algebraic functions, statistics, and geometry.
+ Problem-solving skills to define issues, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ BA/BS in Chemistry, Biology, or related scientific degree preferred.
+ Experience with GMP, raw material testing, and sample preparation.
+ Ability to work varied and extended hours as business dictates.
+ Physical ability to lift/carry/move up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Work Environment
The role is based in a fast-paced, high throughput lab within a mid-sized company. The Discovery Support Lab comprises 8 team members, including a Lab Manager. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. This position offers opportunities for long-term growth and development in method development and validation roles, as well as the chance to take on significant responsibilities within a close-knit team.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Whitehouse, New Jersey.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $28.00/hr.
