Job Title: AI Software Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and exceptional AI Software Engineer to support and integrate with an AI vision team. The AI Software Engineer will work collaboratively with the R&D group responsible for developing sensor-based high-speed sorting equipment for recycling various materials such as plastic containers, paper, glass, metal, and electronic scrap. The role involves planning, developing, coding, debugging, implementing, documenting, and maintaining software that powers the analysis, processing, identification, recognition, and functions of the AI sensor-based sorting equipment.
Responsibilities
+ Develop integration tooling and code in Python/C++ to enhance communication and timing between AI detection and ejection software.
+ Collaborate with partners in London to create and coordinate the joint technical roadmap, balancing business impact against confidence in an uncertain environment.
+ Write high-quality features and code to remotely monitor, maintain, and improve performance and stability across industrial hardware deployed in US waste sites, with support from a UK-based software team.
+ Enhance version control, release, calibration (cameras, etc.), and launch procedures, including additional documentation.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in Python and C++.
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field.
+ 1+ years of experience or equivalent in delivering production-level code and promoting best practices in Python, C++, and/or GO.
+ Excellent programming and IT skills.
+ Experience with cloud systems such as Azure, GCP, AWS.
+ Experience with networking, including VPNs, certificates, and sockets.
+ Experience with Docker, GitHub Actions, CI/CD, and Linux.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ No machine learning experience required.
+ Demonstrable commercial experience, understanding complex commercial requirements with multiple stakeholders.
+ Problem-solving mentality for hardware-enabled products and associated wiring (e.g., routers).
+ Open to occasional travel to Europe.
+ Good communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
Work Environment
This role is on-site, Monday to Friday, for 40 hours a week.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.46/hr.
