Job Title: Product Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Product Design Engineer to develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for both new and legacy products. This role involves building and automating rules and logic using Excel macros and formulas for ERP system integration. The position will transition into product design work using 3D CAD software.

Responsibilities

+ Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for new and legacy products.

+ Build and automate rules and logic using Excel macros and formulas to prepare BOM data for ERP system integration.

+ Collaborate with IT to ensure accurate and timely data uploads into the ERP system.

+ Participate in cross-functional meetings with design, engineering, and operations teams.

+ Transition into product design work using 3D CAD software.

+ Engage in real-time problem solving on the production line, including root cause analysis, and update design or process conditions.

+ Apply FEA and GD&T standards to conduct analysis.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in FEA analysis and GD&T standards.

+ Experience in 3D design.

+ Strong knowledge of Excel, including macros, formulas, and data automation.

+ Understanding of BOM structures and ERP systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field).

+ 2–5 years of relevant experience in product development, data management, or ERP-related roles.

+ Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo.

+ Familiarity with fenestration, windows, doors, cabinetry, or design and analysis of wood or aluminum products.

Work Environment

The role is primarily desk-based, with 90% of time spent working in Excel and 10% on the floor for cross-functional collaboration. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Dubuque, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $42.00/hr.
