Job Title: Maintenance Technician - SKILLED ROLE - PAYING $21 to $28 AN HOUR

Job Description

The Maintenance and Reliability Technician will be responsible for performing technical maintenance and repairs on swine facility equipment and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have expertise in electrical systems, mechanical systems, and general facility maintenance. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work effectively within a team to ensure the smooth operation of swine production processes. The ideal candidate will also suggest process improvements using data-supported decision-making.

Responsibilities

+ Perform technical repairs and maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems within swine facilities.

+ Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery, including automated feeding systems, climate control systems, and waste management equipment.

+ Utilize troubleshooting skills for PLC systems, motors, and electrical systems.

+ Execute structural repairs such as carpentry, plumbing, and welding.

+ Maintain a clean work environment and oversee maintenance on farm vehicles.

+ Manage inventory of tools and equipment.

+ Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with safety protocols.

+ Collaborate and communicate effectively within a team environment to ensure smooth operations.

Essential Skills

+ Expertise in electrical troubleshooting, mechanical systems, and maintenance repair.

+ Proficiency in using hand and power tools.

+ Experience with schematic and blueprint reading.

+ Ability to perform PLC troubleshooting and equipment maintenance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with infrastructure maintenance and equipment management.

+ Knowledge in hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding.

+ Ability to maintain compliance and documentation standards.

+ Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Work Environment

This position is at a very high-end swine operation that, while still a farm, comes with fewer smells and dirtiness compared to typical farms. The team consists of over 100 members, emphasizing a large-scale corporate farm culture that values safety and community outreach. The dress code includes wearing pants (no shorts), a t-shirt with layers as needed, and work boots, with steel toes not required but preferred.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43680.00 - $58240.00/yr.
