    Job Title: Machine Operator

     

    $18.50/hr

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to join our team and ensure the efficient operation of our wire drawing machines. The role involves performing duties safely and conducting quality checks, while maintaining high standards of production and cleanliness.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform required duties in a safe manner.

    + Conduct quality checks using a micrometer.

    + Pull rod from inventory and transfer it to staging and rod payoff in the system.

    + Operate a forklift.

    + Keep the rod clean at the end of production.

    + Load rod payoffs accurately with the applicable material.

    + Weld assigned rods without breakage in the machine.

    + Clear rod tangles on any wire drawing machine.

    + Assemble Pressure/Drawing dies properly and insert them into die boxes.

    + Change out carriers on any machine.

    + Point wire for string-up purposes.

    + Perform physical tests on the wire and input information into the system.

    + Assist in fixing wire breaks in the machine.

    + Understand and set cast and helix on machines.

    + Operate machine at expected utilization levels.

    Essential Skills

    + 1-3 years of manufacturing experience.

    + 1-3 years of machine operating experience.

    + 1-3 years of assembly experience.

    + Experience with forklift operation.

    + Ability to read blueprints.

    + Mechanical assembly skills.

    + Proficiency in using a micrometer.

    + Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 2+ years of experience within a similar manufacturing environment.

    + Ability to lift between 30-50 pounds.

    + Standing for 12 hours at a time.

    + Computer proficiency and ability to use related equipment.

    + Experience with shop equipment, including forklifts, pulling dogs, and butt welders.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is dusty and can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Employees may operate forklifts and other shop equipment in these conditions.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Granite Falls, North Carolina.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
