    Job Description

    We are looking for a **Desktop Support Specialist** to provide technical desktop support, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and assist with PC installations and upgrades. This position will be a **full-time** contract role and **onsite** in Concord, New Hampshire.

     

    What You’ll Do

     

    The Desktop Support Specialist is responsible for providing in-house support to teams and resolving help desk tickets in person. Key duties include:

     

    + Diagnosing and resolving issues related to desktop hardware, software, operating systems, peripherals, and applications

    + Assembling, configuring, installing, and maintaining personal computer hardware, software, and peripherals, while documenting resolutions for future reference

    + Planning and executing hardware and software installations and upgrades, including communication software

    + Coordinating and executing large-scale desktop computer moves and ensuring compliance with internal checks and controls

    + Collaborating with state agencies and vendors to address hardware and software issues, including warranty services

    + Educating departmental staff, internal customers, and end users on technical matters and compliance standards

    + Providing backup coverage for other DoIT Enterprise Desktop Support (EDS) technical staff as needed

    + Monitoring help desk tickets and assigning them to self or other appropriate technicians for resolution

     

    What You'll Need

    Required:

    + Minimum3 yearsof experience in a technical desktop support role, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to hardware, software, operating systems, peripherals, and applications

    + Minimum3 yearsof experience installing, maintaining, and upgrading PC hardware, software, applications, and peripherals

    + 2 yearsof experience in the support and maintenance of Windows operating systems

    + 1 yearof experience supporting Windows 11 with Active Directory

    + Minimum3 yearsof experience using a help desk ticketing system

    Preferred:

    + A+ Certification or equivalent experience (nice to have)

    Physical Demands

    + Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

    + Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

    + Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

     

    The pay range for this position is $30 - $38.25 per hour (USD). Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave as provided by applicable law.​
