    Discover Impactful Work:

    We are seeking a **Site Patient Recruitment and Engagement Associate** to support our government customer on-site in **_Silver Spring, Maryland_** . This position offers 16 hours per week to start, moving to full-time hours in May 2026.

     

    + Relocation assistance is NOT provided for this role.

    + Must be a U.S. citizen.

    + Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screening and a physical.

    A day in the Life:

    + Develop recruitment planning efforts utilizing modern best practices to meet the recruiting requirement of the protocol schedule to include maintaining a flexible and responsive recruitment plan utilizing targeted advertising that can include social media sites, print, radio, and site visits.

    + Ensures all advertising is approved in accordance with WRAIR and DoD policies.

    + Review and understand protocol, ensuring applicable regulations and guidelines are followed. Maintain compliance with specific protocol, SOPs, regulations and guidelines. Review and understand protocol inclusion/exclusion criteria, informed consent forms and study schedules

    + Track projected and actual screening and enrollment data, report data during weekly meetings

    + Monitor recruitment trends, report recruitment trends to contract leadership and study staff

    + Schedule appointments of prospective research subjects for briefings and screenings; follow up with those who did not keep appointments to either reschedule or closeout the encounter.

    + Responsible for maintaining the volunteer database: recruitment efforts, appointments, closing volunteers who are no longer available/no contact, etc.

    + Place and maintain advertisements (flyers, newspapers, web-based ads, list serves, etc.), coordinating study-related costs and expenditures with the site lead and portfolio manager.

    + Front Desk Duties to include answering phones, scheduling participants, escorting participants through facility, etc.

    + Assist with data entry to prepare and distribute volunteer payments, routinely monitor data and prepare reports for both CTC and Laulima Program Management. Troubleshooting and problem solving may be required.

    + Assist with Text-Em All system, which requires sending daily text messages to volunteers to remind them of upcoming appointments. Requires follow-up or texts or phone calls in response to volunteer requests to reschedule or cancel appointments.

    + Assist with escorting volunteers at the Staff Duty Desk located near the main entrance of WRAIR and escorting them to the CTC section. Upon completion of appointment, assist with escorting volunteers back to the Staff Duty Desk as necessary.

    Keys to Success:

    Required Education

    + Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification

    Required Skills and Experience

    + Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years).

    + Must be able to work independently and with a team of volunteer recruiters following a brief period of specific technical training

    + Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel programs, and ability to learn new software as needed

    + Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and customers.

     

    In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

    Desired Skills and Experience:

    + Experience or knowledge of Clinical Trials processes and regulations (human subjects protections and privacy) preferred.

    + Experience or knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) medical or research operations preferred.

     

    Compensation and Benefits

     

    The salary pay range estimated for this position Patient Outreach Specialist III based inMaryland is $70,000.00–$80,000.00.
