AZ Director of Security Arizona Charlie’s Decatur (Las Vegas, NV)
Description:
Summary:
Responsible for the overall operational and strategic direction, administration and coordination of all activities within the Security division for both Arizona Charlie’s Boulder and Decatur. Appropriately respond to and manage any escalated departmental concerns and guest and/or team member challenges.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
+ Hire, train, develop, measure performance, and discipline of division’s leadership staff
+ Develop, implement, execute, and achieve long and short-term divisional business strategies
+ Formulate and operate within annual marketing plan, operating budget, and capital budget to accomplish goals and objectives
+ Conduct ongoing analysis of financial reports to monitor the profitability and expenses of the division and take appropriate action by creating and implementing strategies and tactics to reduce cost and/or increase revenue
+ Develop and implement staffing plans that provide divisional leadership appropriate labor to meet guest service and operational expectations
+ Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, as they apply to the position
+ Lead the security organization for the property, working with the General Manager, to meet department objectives
+ Ensure the quality of management operations in all areas of Security
+ Monitor all activities on property, to ensure that all applicable laws, rules, regulations and controls of the company, including but not limited to, OSHA and Nevada Gaming Control Board are enforced throughout the property
+ Authorize security clearance and/or access to sensitive areas of the property
+ Maintain fire control systems and personal alarm systems on property
+ Organize the Lost and Found Department on property
+ Maintain good working relationships with various members of the business community (i.e., Nevada Gaming Commission, Police Department, Sheriff’s Department, Fire Department, etc.)
+ Routinely tour and inspect the properties, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person, for proper resolution
+ Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company’s guest service culture standards
+ Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Qualifications
+ Minimum five years management experience within a hotel/casino security department, military or law enforcement organization, or an equivalent combination of any of the above. Seven years’ experience or more preferred
+ Working current knowledge of the various security systems and equipment found on a casino floor
+ Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with all levels of team members and external agencies
+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, state laws, local ordinances, and procedure manuals
+ Excellent guest service skills
+ Present a professional appearance
+ Ability to effectively communicate in small and large group situations, as well as one-on-one
+ Ability to maintain composure and management ability during crisis
+ Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prepare and present professional-level responses to internal and external inquiries
+ Able to use computers and related equipment, standard office software and office equipment
+ Must be at least 21 years of age
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ College degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred
+ Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal
+ Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
+ Verify right to work in the United States

+ Must be able to qualify under Golden Entertainment requirements with his/her weapon under PILB guidelines
Physical Requirements
+ Continuously walking and/or standing and working indoors (more than 50% of the time)
+ Occasionally sitting at a desk or table (up to 50% of the time)
+ Bending, kneeling, climbing and using chemical agents (up to approx 25% of the time)
+ Work for sustained periods of time maintaining concentrated attention to detail
+ Hearing, vision (including peripheral), speech and literacy (critical)
+ Ability to communicate vocally utilizing portable radios and telephones (critical)
+ Constant use of hearing and vision, sitting, distinguishing between shades of color, and using tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity
