**Northrop Grumman Space Systems** in **Linthicum, Maryland** is seeking a **Principal or Sr Principal Systems Engineer** to be the **Flatsat Technical Lead** for a Production Space RADAR Payload program.
As the Flatsat Technical Lead, you will spearhead the development and deployment of an innovative Flatsat, which serves as a state-of-the-art Payload simulator for our Space RADAR Program. This exciting role offers the chance to work at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and complex space systems.
The Flatsat will function as a highly versatile test bed, allowing for Flight Software and Firmware development, debugging, and capability enhancements. In addition, the Flatsat will enable real-time testing of flight software, validating intricate interactions and performance of interfacing systems, to ensure successful payload operation in the challenges of space.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to innovate and improve the Flatsat’s capabilities. This position offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of aerospace innovation, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in space technology.
This position can be staffed at a Principal or Sr. Principal level using the basic qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications:
+ **Principal Engineer:** Bachelor of Science Degree in STEM curriculum with 5 years relevant experience; 3 years with MS Degree
+ **Sr Principal Engineer:** Bachelor of Science Degree in STEM curriculum with 8 years relevant experience; 6 years with MS Degree
+ RF (Radio Frequency) engineering and RF I&T (Integration and Test) experience
+ Test planning and test procedure development
+ United States Citizenship
+ No clearance required to start, but must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance and SCI approval/access
Preferred Qualifications:
+ BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, or Electrical Engineering Technology
+ Experience with COTS RF, Digital, and Power measurement and analysis equipment, e.g., oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, vector network analyzer, RF signal generator, RF power meter, logic analyzer, etc.
+ ESA (Electronically Scanned Array) I&T
+ RADAR I&T
+ Space Payload I&T
+ Active TS and/or SCI clearance
Primary Level Salary Range: $105,400.00 - $158,000.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $131,100.00 - $196,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
