PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Support unmanned systems Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) that addresses Civil Engineer Operations, Rapid Airfield Damage Repair (RADR), Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), Logistics and Mission Support. This effort will develop new technologies in fully and semi- autonomous operations, sensor/payload integration, multi-vehicle interaction, and robotic applications that support CE and mission support operations for both fixed and deployed installations. New technologies should integrate advancements in artificial intelligence and machine learning where feasible, as well as implement cybersecurity measures when required.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ RDT&E will include laboratory and field research; material, technology, and process development; sample analysis; material characterization; prototyping; designing and fabrication of test articles; test and evaluation; modeling and simulation (M&S); preparation of test plans for physical and virtual experiments; risk analysis; operations and maintenance enhancements; field trials; tests and experiments; design and construction of upgraded/new test venues; rapid warfighter initiatives; and emerging technology assessments.

+ Conduct RDT&E projects focused on providing solutions to identify airbase technology capability gaps in the areas of Civil Engineer Robotic and Autonomous Systems Technologies (CERAST). The objective of this effort is to deliver technical data and products, e.g., reports, papers, and prototypes, to meet Air Force CE enterprise technical objectives and materiel development requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline or equivalent

+ Three or more years of RDT&E experience

+ Specific experience related to software engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics, robotics, and equipment maintenance required

+ Working knowledge of AutoCAD and engineering drafting
