    _We are looking for you to join our team as a_ **_Principal Quality Engineer / Sr. Principal Quality Enginee_** _r_ _based out of_ **_Rolling Meadows, IL_** _._

     

    _Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to join our Vendor Material Disposition Area (VMDA)._

     

    **_What You'll Get to Do_** :

     

    _A Quality Engineer develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials products, focusing on defect minimization and process improvement._

     

    + _Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place._

    + _Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment._

    + _Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications._

    + _Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction._

    + _Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements._

    + _May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality._

    + _May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies._

    + _Solid written and verbal interpersonal communication skills._

    _Basic Qualifications Principal Quality Engineer_** **:

    + _Principal Quality Engineer: Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in quality; OR a minimum of 3 years in quality with a Master's degree in a related STEM field; 1 year with a PhD._

    + _Experience supporting cross-functional teams to resolve problems or issues._

    + _Experience with SAP, ISE, and/or CADSTAR._

    + _Experience with dispositioning nonconforming material reports._

    + _Experience working with electrical or mechanical design requirements and specifications (IPC, J-STD, MIL-STD)._

    + _The ability to obtain a DOD secret clearance_

    + _US citizenship required._

    **_Basic Qualifications Sr. Principal Quality Engineer_** :

    + _Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) related field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in quality; OR a minimum of 6 years in quality with a Master's degree in a related STEM field; 4 Years with a PhD._

    + _Experience supporting cross-functional teams to resolve problems or issues._

    + _Experience with SAP, ISE, and/or CADSTAR._

    + _Experience with dispositioning nonconforming material reports._

    + _Experience working with electrical or mechanical design requirements and specifications (IPC, J-STD, MIL-STD)._

    + _The ability to obtain a DOD secret clearance_

    + _US citizenship required._

     

    _Preferred Qualifications Principal Quality Engineer / Sr. Principal Quality Engineer:_

     

    + _Experience working with manufacturing._

    + _Experience with the Material Review Board (MRB) process._

    + _Experience with interpreting and presenting quality metrics._

    + _Experience with AS9100 Quality Management System and AS9102 First Article Inspections._

    + _Green/Black Belt Certified in Lean Six Sigma._

    + _The ability to obtain Secret Clearance._

    _MANUMS_

    Primary Level Salary Range: $95,800.00 - $143,600.00

     

    Secondary Level Salary Range: $119,200.00 - $178,800.00

     

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
