Sales and Operations Financial Analyst

Position Summary:
The Sales and Operations Financial Analyst plays a critical role in bridging commercial and operational priorities through financial insight and cross-functional collaboration. This role supports both sales and operations by providing situational analysis, cost modeling, and financial reporting that inform strategic and day-to-day decisions. The analyst partners closely with sales, accounting, operations, IT, and other functions to evaluate costs, conduct margin and costing analyses, and coordinate processes that impact the balance sheet and income statement. In addition, this role delivers timely and accurate reporting to the sales leadership team, helping to drive performance, accountability, and informed decision-making across the organization. This position is central to maintaining transparency, efficiency, and alignment across financial and operational activities.
Financial Analyst Responsibilities:
+ Review historical financial results, revenue and cost data, trends and forecasts.
+ Prepare reports and projections based upon this analysis.
+ Facilitate the annual revenue / booking forecasts using our outside reps, inside sales team and sales leaders as resources.
+ Lead customer profitability analysis and improvement efforts.
+ Establish the departmental budgeted volumes and costs to generate costing rates
+ Develop the Plant Cost Center Report monthly which analyzes the variances of actual to budget.
+ Manage pricing guidance for the Sales teams.
+ Evaluate capital expenditure plans and internal rates of return.
+ Analyze investment opportunities
+ Create financial models
+ Manage our government cost audits when they occur.
+ Perform data mining and analysis and work cross functionally to provide insights for S&OP process.
+ Support sales with KPI reporting, account segmentation, and other reporting inquiries.
+ Collect and analyze data, developing decision support tools/reporting, and delivering recommendations.
+ Partner with Sales and Finance to validate monthly business metrics.
+ Develops and trains on new reporting tools / new KPI measures / changes to the PES system.

Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
+ Minimum of (4) four years private industry experience or (2) two years in public accounting
Required Technical and Soft Skills:
+ Self-motivated with strong work ethic
+ Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
+ Ability to evaluate business performance, develop learnings, communicate findings to variety of audiences
+ Highly adaptable and high-level thinker motivated to directly impact company success
+ Strong listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills; professional outgoing personality.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
+ Costing background
+ Experience with JD Edwards Software
