Your main tasks and responsibilities:

+ Set up and operate welding and cutting equipment safely and efficiently.

+ Read and interpret weld procedures, work orders, and technical drawings to meet specifications.

+ Apply knowledge of metals and alloys, including stainless and carbon steels.

+ Prepare, fit, and finish parts to customer specifications, including pipe, pressure vessels, and structural components.

+ Perform pump component repairs, including defect excavation, weld build-up, and overlay.

+ Plan and execute work operations independently based on weld procedures and job requirements.

+ Maintains a safe, neat, and orderly workstation

+ Maintains welding equipment as required to keep machines in good operating condition and maintains welding supplies and consumables in appropriate storage environment per specifications

+ Assists in the disassembly, inspection, and re-assembly of pump equipment when required

+ Communicate effectively to ensure smooth workflow transitions between team members.

+ Support and assist coworkers, including training and collaboration.

+ Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide safety program which includes

+ following all safety policies and procedures.

+ Supports and cooperates in Sulzer Nuclear Quality Program.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.

+ Works overtime as requested.

+ Operates forklifts, overhead cranes, man lifts, and scissor lifts.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

+ Completion of a welding apprenticeship program or equivalent training preferred.

+ Minimum of five (5) years of experience in welding, cutting, and fabricating metal and alloy components.

+ Proficiency in GTAW, SMAW, and FCAW welding processes.

+ Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and apply knowledge of welding equipment and filler materials.

+ Successful completion of a pre-employment weld performance qualification to ASME Section IX standards using GTAW in the 6G position.

+ Ability to produce welds that meet nondestructive testing standards, including VT, MT, PT, RT, and UT.
