Salary: $1500 / Week

Special Education Teacher (M/S) – Escondido Union School District

Position Overview:

Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher provides high-quality services to students with moderate to severe disabilities in grades K–12. This is a full-time, on-site position in a collaborative school environment, Monday through Friday, totaling 35 hours per week. The teacher will actively participate in the planning and implementation of individualized student programs, including specialized instruction, tutorial support, and consultation with general education staff.

Compensation:

+ Local Rate: $60/hour

+ Travelers: Weekly pay with travel stipends totaling approximately $2,300/week

Minimum Requirements:

+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)

+ Valid California Mod/Severe Special Education Teaching Credential (required)

+ Minimum of one year experience in a teaching environment (preferred)

+ State Teacher Certification; Types:

+ Standard Elementary Teaching (preferred)

+ Standard Secondary Teaching (preferred)

+ Standard Special Teaching (preferred)

+ Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) (preferred)

+ Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

+ Current CPR certification (if applicable)

+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable)

+ Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

+ Must be at least 18 years of age
