Overview
The Manager of Regional Logistics is responsible for leading the warehousing and logistics functions for all service centers in the PPL territory. The main function is to provide outstanding customer service to internal customers. This position will focus on providing material on time and accurately to the work crews. This individual will report to and collaborate closely with the Manager of Logistics Services. The three Regional Supervisors will report directly to this position.
Responsibilities
+ Performs supply chain and logistics functions such as material procurement, production planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection and distribution.
+ Creates integrated processes among internal functions (e.g., operations, purchasing and logistics) and outside suppliers.
+ Manages professional employees and/or supervisors and skilled labor.
+ Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
+ Decisions and problem-solving are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance from senior manager.
+ Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers.
+ Exercises some management authority; sets employee performance objectives, conducts performance reviews and recommends pay actions.
+ Defines team operating standards and ensures essential procedures are followed based on knowledge of own discipline.
+ This position will be highly focused on internal customer satisfaction and engagement. Working directly with customers, such as, work management and scheduling to ensure alignment of business needs.
+ Improve safety performance in all regions; specifically, 6 warehouses/distribution centers by improving the safety culture and reinforcing all company specific safety programs.
+ Maintain accurate inventory levels in all locations and participate in inventory reconciliation processes as needed.
+ Manage the performance and development of the regional material supervisors.
+ Standardize processes across all service centers.
+ Identify opportunities for process improvement and waste eliminations.
+ Develop KPI’s with the Manager of Logistics Services to measure the business.
+ Coordinate with HR and Labor for bargaining unit memorandums and problem resolutions.
+ Lead continuous improvement processes with multiple functions by ensuring all appropriate departments and individuals are involved in root cause analysis and remediation.
+ Develop training programs for bargaining unit employees.
+ Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related business or technical field
Qualifications:
+ 5+ years supervisory experience
+ Strong Labor Relations skills and previous experience in management of a bargaining unit workforce
+ Strong organizational and leadership skills
+ Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills
+ Ability to foster an environment of team work between various customers
+ Strong customer service focus with ability to build credibility with internal clients
+ Strong communication and presentation skills
+ Ability to adapt and drive change
+ Ability to prepare written reports for intra-department use

Preferred Qualifications:
+ MBA plus five years Logistics experience
+ Certification in Logistics at an accredited university
+ Experience in the electric or power generation business with an understanding of business management
