s an Advanced Application Engineer here at Honeywell, you will lead a team to deliver high-quality solutions, provide technical expertise, and ensure exceptional customer service. Your leadership will drive innovative solutions and business growth. You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Mason, OH location on a Hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our material handling systems, ensuring that we meet and exceed customer expectations while driving operational excellence.
The Advanced Application Engineer concepts the electrical and controls estimates for material handling applications. This position will be responsible for proposals and estimates that define scope, schedule, price, and responsibilities of a project. The Advanced Application Engineer works with customers, sales representatives, and other proposal development team members to translate customer needs into solutions regarding material handling systems.
+ Mentor, train, and guide Application Engineers in applying principles, techniques, standards, and equipment for the conceptual design and costing of general conveyor systems, high-speed sortation, integrated systems, and Honeywell standard offerings.
+ Attend project engineering design review meetings and project Sales Turnover meetings to provide relevant information and expertise.
+ Support the technical aspects of proposals to address future business opportunities with our customers.
+ Analyze material handling concept requirements to evaluate options and implement solutions that meet customer expectations.
+ Collaborate with the pre-sales project team to identify and document risks associated with each project, including mitigation strategies for defined risks.
+ Review systems to ensure that the overall solution developed is cost-effective, meets customer performance requirements, and remains competitive in the market.
+ Assist in the development and refinement of business processes and procedures.
+ Perform cost and price estimation, proposal creation, verification, and validation for electrical and controls content.
+ Research, read, and analyze existing codes, software, and equipment documentation, including AutoCAD layouts.
+ Present electrical and controls scope and costs to management and project teams.
YOU MUST HAVE
+ Bachelor’s Degree in a related engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, etc.).
+ 5 years of experience in controls and electrical design.
+ Experience with Conveyor Systems (e.g., Case Conveyor, Pallet Conveyor, Bulk Flow Conveyor, ASRS, Robotics).
+ Proficient skills in Microsoft Office.
+ Valid Driver’s License.
+ Minimum travel availability: 10%.

+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, including researching answers to questions.
+ Experience with Material Handling Equipment.
+ General knowledge of PLC, Electrical, and Mechanical systems.
+ Customer-facing experience.
+ Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with various teams.
+ Ability to communicate complex topics clearly to both internal and external audiences.
+ Proficiency in Word, Excel, Salesforce, SharePoint, AutoCAD, and Outlook programs.
