Job Summary
The Principal Developer is a distinguished technical leader, responsible for driving innovation, architectural and software development excellence, and strategic software development initiatives across the organization. As the foremost technical expert, they lead the development and optimization of mission critical, strategically focused applications, programs, websites, databases, and/or systems. As a thought leader, they bring deep expertise across multiple functional and technical domains, offering an enterprise-wide perspective on decisions. Leading the software development function within the organization, they mentor and coach professionals at all levels, fostering a culture of growth, technical mastery, and continuous innovation. The Principal Developer is involved in setting the technical vision and strategy for the organization. They work closely with senior leadership to align technology initiatives with business goals. Their expertise is frequently sought in the evaluation and adoption of new technologies and methodologies. They play a key role in ensuring the scalability, security, and performance of the organization's software solutions.
Primary Job Responsibilities
+ Leads the design and development of well-integrated, enterprise-level solutions that meet present and future business needs.
+ Collaborates with architecture leadership to shape, evolve and champion application architecture standards. Provides architectural guidance to development team that results in team's ability to address key architectural drivers including performance, scalability, maintainability, and security.
+ Focused on ensuring the overall technical health and strategic direction of software development initiatives and enterprise products/projects.
+ Contributes to a full range of programming tasks including program design, development, debugging, estimating, unit testing, and documentation for a variety of applications, systems, databases, or websites. Provides oversight, guidance, and direction for others on these tasks.
+ Provides the highest-level technical support for complex issues. Serves as technical escalation point for resolving high-impact challenges and issues. Develop and implement advanced troubleshooting procedures and best practices.
+ Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.
+ Leads forward looking-long-term application development, integration, upgrade, and maintenance strategies.
+ Leads the selection and evaluation of new vendor software solutions and packages.
+ Leads knowledge sharing and shared understanding amongst the development team
+ Provides mentoring, training, procedural, and technical guidance to professionals at all levels.
+ Function as a key technical advisor, contributing to industry discussions, publications, and organizational best practices.
+ Plays a key role in shaping, evolving, and championing Pulte Group Development best practices, methods, standards, and processes
+ Identifies and leads change and process improvement efforts within teams and specific technical area of focus.
+ Follows secure coding standards and addresses security scan alerts.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

+ Frequently responsible for providing guidance, coaching, and training to other employees across the organization within area of expertise.
+ Typically, responsible for managing large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the company, involving large cross-functional teams.
+ Technical Leadership: The person will be expected to provide technical guidance and mentorship to other developers, conducting code reviews and enforcing coding standards, helping more junior developers improve their skills in Sitecore development and best practices.
+ Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: They function as the point of reference for complex technical challenges, making informed decisions that impact the project's direction and success.
+ Strategic Planning: A principal developer needs to think beyond the immediate project, considering how the solution fits into the client's long-term digital strategy and business goals.
Knowledge & Experience:
+ Requires mastery level knowledge of level area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
+ May have deep knowledge of project and program management.
