    Job Description

    Insight Global is looking for a DB2 Data Engineer for one of our largest oil and gas production clients in Downtown Houston, TX. This person will be responsible for developing and maintaining various database applications on the IBM iSeries platform, utilizing dynamic SQL, and converting RPG code to SQL stored procedures. The ideal candidate for this position will have expert experience within SQL stored procedures, development in DB2 IMB iSeries Platform, the ability to read RPGIV, RPGLE, RPGFree programs, and embedded SQL. This position is 3 days a week in the office, and has a pay range between $65-$71/hr.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    - Expert SQL Stored Procedures experience

     

    - Development experience in DB2 IMB iSeries Platform

     

    - Ability to read RPGIV, RPGLE, RPGFree programs and Embedded SQL

     

    - Experience with IBM tools including Aldon, RDI, ACS, etc.

     

    - Experience with Python coding - Conversion/modernization experience from RPG to SQL Stored Procedures in DB2

     

    - Git Source control and integration

     

    - Exposure to Microservices, VS Code IDE Development

     

    - Application development experience interacting with front end using REST APIs, Json
